Fiery FS150 Pro
EFI has launched its newest Fiery platform for cut-sheet digi-
tal production systems. The EFI Fiery FS150 Pro digital front end
(DFE) offers faster processing, unsurpassed image quality, seamless
MIS/ERP integration, and even easier to use automated workflows.

The Fiery FS150 Pro DFE has all the advanced imaging features
that made its predecessor the first DFE platform to carry a 100
percent perfect pass label from VIGC's PDF RIP Audit. Users can
have more confidence than ever before that their output matches
the designer's intent on the first print—including a new grayscale
composite overprint feature that ensures correct monochrome
printing of overprints, drop shadows and transparencies.
Fiery ImageViewer, an application that allows users to view full
resolution raster data in real time and adjust the final raster output
before printing, now includes the ability to save last-minute color
adjustments so future jobs that require the same type of color cor-
rection can be produced faster.
The latest version of Fiery Command WorkStation software
included with the Fiery FS150 Pro DFE puts automated production
controls at users' fingertips. Server-based automated workflows
are easy for system administrators to set up and deploy, allowing
operators to produce jobs in fewer clicks and with reduced errors.
The Fiery FS150 Pro DFE integrates with EFI's MIS/ERP soft-
ware, eCommerce/Web-to-Print products, and scheduling tools.
As a result, customers can easily optimize their print load and
track both expenses and profits in a complete, connected business
operations workflow.

Ultimate TechnoGraphics has released Impostrip
Configurator version 10 which is now available with
Enfocus Switch 12 Mac and Windows. This new configura-
tor integrates and automates multiple Impostrip products
such as Impostrip Automation, Impostrip Scalable and
Impostrip Solo for Mac with Enfocus Switch.
Impostrip Configurator version 10 also introduces the
concept of a mixed platform environment offering more
flexibility to users who use both Mac and Windows based
computer platforms in their production environment. With
Enfocus Switch, users have the flexibility of choosing to
run this solution on either computer platform. For exam-
ple, if Enfocus Switch is installed on a Mac computer and
users want to drive Impostrip Automation from a Windows
computer, they can now do this. The idea behind this new
approach is to provide users the workflow flexibility they
may require. It also enhances the ease of use by eliminating
constraints and offering more integration options.

Future Vantage
FutureMark Paper Group has announced the launch of Future Vantage,
North America's first 100 percent recycled coated #3 freesheet. Future Vantage
brings outstanding brightness, print gloss and print fidelity to the coated #3
freesheet market, for the first time equipping corporations, merchants, printers
and designers with the ability to differentiate their print products through both
superior environmental and paper performance.
According to the Environmental Paper Network's Paper Calculator v. 3.2, 100
percent recycled coated freesheet generates 30 percent less greenhouse gas emis-
sions, consumes 46 percent less water and requires the harvest of 20,000 fewer
trees (per 1,000 tons of coated freesheet paper produced) compared to non-recycled coated freesheet. These unmatched environmental
benefits, combined with a unique coating design and enhancements made to the de-inking process, enables producers of print materi-
als to feel good about their paper choices by selecting a 100 percent recycled option.
Future Vantage paper boasts a 70 gloss finish, a high brightness rating of 88 and is comprised of 100 percent recycled content.
Future Vantage is available in 50, 60, 70, and 80 pound basis weights and is immediately available through FutureMark's sales force.
